Heavenly Horses – the Glory and Pride of the Turkmen People

At the era of Revival of a new epoch of our powerful state, thanks to the unprecedented efforts of our Hero Arkadag, the Honourable President, our homeland, which is rapidly moving forward and transforming, is signified with holidays and celebrations. The grand celebration of National day of Turkmen horse on the last Sunday of April each year is a symbol of the respect shown to our Akhalteke horses. In honour of National day of Turkmen horse at the State Museum of the State сultural сentre of Turkmenistan is organized a festive exhibition "Heavenly Horses – the Glory and Pride of the Turkmen People" The exhibition presents photographs of racehorses in traditional harness, kept in museum storehouses, as well as paintings of horses by well-known artists. Archaeological finds in the form of terracotta horse figurines are also on display. Our ancestors equated the horse's saddle with a royal throne, revered them, and adorned them with gold and silver, as well as carpets. A prominent display at the “Ak Oy” exhibition features various types of carpets, skillfully woven by Turkmen women, symbolizing the national character of the Turkmen people. On the interior walls, we can see horse capes adorned with tassels and fringe, carpet saddles, and horse accessories such as a breast collar, whip, and bridle. Several pieces of jewelry created by our master jewelers are also on display, glorifying the Turkmen Akhalteke horse and symbolizing the progress of the era. At the exhibition, the image of the Turkmen horse is clearly reflected in the carpet patterns, the beautiful colours of the paintings, and the exquisite art of the sculptor. The exhibition was opened by the head of cultural and enlightener division Dovlet Rejepov with words of greeting speech. Then the floor was given to the People’s artist артист of Turkmenistan Suhanberdi Orazberdiev, sub-editor of “Watan” newspaper Ogultach Oraztaganova, Head of the Library Department of the Aba Annayev International Equestrian Academy of Arkadag city and Head of the Women's Organization Ayjemal Bayramova, and senior staff scientist of Ethnography division of the State Museum of the State сultural сentre of Turkmenistan Novcha Orazberdieva .
