Today, on the 23-rd of January 2023 at the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan were met representatives from a museum of J. Paul Getty of Los Angeles city of the USA, which have become the winners within the network of the program of the United States of America “Fund of ambassadors on protection of cultural heritage”, declared in 2022, for acquaintance with the work.
The purpose of visit of the American representatives is full research by means of 3D scanner and other equipment of a fragment of a head of the Buddhist stupa concerning V century found in Merv.
The visit will last from the 23-rd up to the 28-th of January 2023. Within the network of this action will be carried out discussion of forthcoming works with specialists of the museum, an exchange of experience in this direction, and master classes for students as well.
Masterclasses will be held at the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan, Ministry of culture of Turkmenistan and Turkmen State institute of culture.
For the purpose of acquaintance of the staff of museums of Turkmenistan with the information on Getty museum the American experts will organize a meeting in the Ministry of culture of Turkmenistan.
There also will be read a lecture for students of Turkmen State institute of the culture, who study in a speciality “Protection of a cultural heritage and restoration of historical monuments”.
There will be organized excursions for the guests to the museums of the capital
We believe, that this meeting will be mutually beneficial and productive for both sides in forthcoming works on restoration of a fragment of a head of the Buddhist stupa.
