At the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan are carried out various actions for the purpose to strengthen knowledge of youth and to expand their horizon. For this purpose at schools, kindergartens are organized guest exhibitions, competitions among pupils and exhibition of children's drawings.
At the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan operate «Young naturalist», «Young historian» and «Young artist» study groups.
The «Young naturalist” study group operates at the State museum of the State cultural centre of Turkmenistan under the aegis of department of Nature and local lore. The main of this study group is to acquaint with the nature of Turkmenistan, its vegetable and animal worlds, nature monuments of the country, the minerals, petrified remains of animals and plants found in territory of Turkmenistan, and with famous scientists of the world and our country. Heads of a «Young naturalist» study group carry out various lessons, actions and excursions for upbringing of ecological culture and love to the nature of children.
This school year year the children were trained a methodology of preparation of a herbarium, on the 15-th and the 16-th of October was held competition named «Variety of wildlife», on the 23-rd of October, was organized excursion to the Ashgabat National Zoo. On the 9-th of October there will be show of children at the solemn opening of an exhibition to the Harvest Holiday.
The department of Nature and local lore today, during the school vacation carried out lesson named «Ancient pangolins - dinosaurs». Within the course of the lesson children, who are engaged in «Young naturalist» study group listened to the excursion in the part of «Mesozoic era» of the exposition of a museum of Nature and local lore and for the purpose of profound acquaintance with dinosaurs they were shown various kinds of dinosaurs and an interesting popular science film. The lesson and a film made indelible impression on the children.
